WAALC is offering scholarships of $500 each to four individual members who wish to attend the 2010 ACAL conference in Darwin. Delegates to ACAL conferences identify new resources, research and strategies to apply in the adult literacy and numeracy field while expanding their professional networks.
Applicants for the 2010 WAALC scholarship must
• Be an individual financial member – either renew your membership or join WAALC prior to applying.
• Provide original receipts for expenditure incurred for travel, meals or accommodation while attending the conference. The expenses claimed from WAALC must not be reimbursed from any other source.
• Apply before close of business 21st July 2010.
If you are awarded a scholarship, your employer may pay some or all of your costs to attend the conference and invoice WAALC an amount for an amount not exceeding $500 (GST inclusive) for actual costs you incurred.
Send a short written application by fax, post or email (maximum 1 page) explaining
• why you would like to attend the conference
• what you hope WAALC will pay for
• your work in the adult literacy and numeracy field.

Submit your application so it reaches us before close of business Wednesday 21st July 2010.
If more than four applications are deemed eligible, four will be selected by drawing at random. The WAALC executive reserves the right to deem any application non-compliant even if all of the scholarship fund is not committed.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Monday 26th July 2010.
