The 2017 WAALC conference Building digital capabilities in the adult learning environment will have a special focus on the skills needed to access the digital world, and in particular how teachers acquire new skills as they are needed.
The following questions will be explored:
- What digital and technology skills do we need in 2017 if we are teaching adults literacy, language and numeracy (LLN)?
- How can LLN teachers and students access the skills they need as rapid change creates ever more opportunities and threats?
- How can we foster learning across the generations to build digital citizenship?
- What different methods might we need for student groups of different ages and cultures?
This conference will provide us with lots of information - sharing and learning new skills through workshops, networking and keynote speakers. We encourage all practitioners to consider what they can share with their colleagues. New presenters are encouraged to give it a go.
This year’s WAALC conference will be short and sharp with an emphasis on keeping the cost as low as possible so everyone can access this important professional development.
